U12 Premier: St Joseph’s 1 Hodson Bay 2
St Joseph’s suffered their first league defeat of the season on a cold Sunday morning in Monksland. The first goal came on 15 minutes from a Hodson Bay free kick and the score remained at 1-0 to the visitors until half-time despite the best efforts of Sean McManus, David Griffen and Jamie McBride who all went close in the first half. St Joseph’s started the second half brightly and were rewarded after 10 minutes as a stunning 30 yard free kick from Ciaran Lennon drew the sides level. St Joseph’s pushed on from there in search of the winner, however the visitors took full advantage of a debatable penalty decision 10 minutes from time to seal the victory. St Joseph’s valiant efforts deserved a better result from this game where 3 set pieces proved decisive in the end.
